Green Christmas: Lantern Making Contest Poro Point Awarding

Christmas Lanterns Galore in Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point. December 10, 2012 at the Vernanda of Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point in La Union, almost 100 participants attended  the awarding of the first Green Christmas Lantern Making Contest. With 38 recycled yet creative lanterns from various high schools from the province of La Union, it was a festive event which celebrates not only the Holiday Spirit but also having a sustainable mindset when it comes to our environment. The contest is a project of the TREES program which Thunderbird Resorts uses to lead the forefront for sustainability and protection of the Earth.

All the schools that joined are winners in their own way for showing us that we could still make use of the things that we deem as waste. But like all contests we have our winners from Don Eufenio F. Eriquel High School, Nagullian National High School, and Diocesan Seminary of the Heart of Jesus which brought home the first to third place respectively. With that congratulations to all the winners and thank you for joining.
