Thunderbird Resorts goes Brigada Eskwela
It’s back to school this June and employees at Thunderbird Resorts Poro Point headed to San Agustin Elementary School and La Union National High School to participate in the Brigada Eskwela prior to school opening.
The employees endured the heat of a long tiring day and happily repainted walls and stairs, cleaned school grounds, and helped restore classroom fixtures. A project under Thunderbird Resort’s Efforts on Environmental Sustainability (TREES), this contribution hopes to give the students a healthier and more conducive environment for their learning.
Held annually, the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela readies schools through the help of volunteers who work collectively in the repair of classrooms and other school facilities.

Medical Mission
As part of TREES, we continue to uphold our commitment to help communities. Under this program, we successfully organized and hosted our first Medical Mission in La Union last March 2010.
For the second quarter of this year, another Medical Mission was held at Brgy. San Agustin last June 28. Thunderbird Resorts employees, and with the support of the local government and doctors, attended to general medical check-ups and prescriptions, as well as free medicine/vitamins distribution.
Residents that composed mostly of mothers with their children and senior citizens lined–up for the medical mission. Employees and barangay officials eagerly assisted the patients.
A long and tiring, but definitely a fulfilling day for everyone.
