  1. What it is all About
    This photo contest aims to promote Thunderbird Resorts in the Philippines through the eyes of different professional and amateur photographers and draw potential clients to the resorts thru the good visuals produced by invited photographers. At the same time, such endeavor also projects Thunderbird as a company that supports and promotes Filipino culture expressed through art with photography as medium.

    Winning photographs of this contest will be published in Digital Photographer Philippines. Photos gathered from the photo contest may also be incorporated in some marketing materials of Thunderbird Resorts with credit given to the Photographer.

  2. Who Will Qualify
    This photo contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers who are residents of the Philippines. A separate in-house photo contest will be organized for employees of Thunderbird Resorts and their family members.

  3. Rules on Submission of Entries
    1. All entries must be submitted in printed photo paper
      (8" x 12" size) and its softcopy to Digital Photographer Philippines office.
    2. Participants may submit unlimited number of entries,
      but participants are allowed only to win once.
    3. All photos submitted should have been taken during the duration
      of the contest which is from November 1 to November 30, 2009.
    4. Deadline for the submission of entries is on December 10, 2009.
    5. Participants may get registration forms from the office
      of Digital Photographer Philippines or download the
      forms in PDF format from www.thunderbird-asia.com
      or http://digitalphotographer.com.ph/.

      Registration period is from October 1, 2009 to October 31, 2009. Confirmation of the photo contest schedule shall be sent via email. Digital Photographer Philippines shall issue Thunderbird Resorts Express Your Art contest ID.

    6. All entries should be free of watermarks and other markings.
    7. Submitted Photographs shall be exclusive to this contest.
    8. Black and white and color formats are accepted. Images should not contain drastic alteration. Elements should not be added nor removed. Color and contrast adjustments are acceptable.
    9. All entries should meet the contest criteria. Failure to do such will result to rejection of the entry.
    10. The participant shall guarantee that forwarded entries are taken by him or her. No other entity has rights, claims or interests on the submitted photographs.
    11. For photographs with people as subjects, consent is required from person(s) being photographed. Participant must provide a signed written personal release from person(s) who appear in the photograph. This should be submitted together with the photo contest entry.

  4. How to Send Entries
    All printed 8" x 12" entries and soft copies of the same should be mailed inside a sealed envelope to:

  5. Deadline for the Submissions of Entries
    Deadline for the submission of entries is on December 10, 2009. The contest Organizers are not responsible for any postal or technical delay.

  6. Criteria for Judging
    1. Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

    2. All entries must portray an accurate reflection of Thunderbird Resorts, without alteration (other than standard optimization, including removal of dust, cropping, adjustments to color and contrast, etc.)

  7. Mechanics for Judging
    1. The top three prizes and consolation prizes shall be selected from the Finalists. Winners shall be notified via telegram and/or email.
    2. Digital Photographer Philippines is the primary organization, together with a representative from Thunderbird Resorts, which is handling logistics for the photo contest. They shall oversee the selection of finalists, winners of top three prizes and consolation prizes. They shall also select competent judges.
    3. To ensure that judging is fair and objective, the names of the photographers shall not be disclosed until winning entries are identified.
    4. Judges' decision is final.

  8. Prizes
    1. Prizes for this contest are as follows:
      • First Prize - Php 250,000.00
      • Second Prize - Php 100,000.00
      • Third Prize - Php 50,000.00
      • 6 Consolation Prizes of Php 5,000.00 each
    2. Claiming of prizes shall be announced in the Web via www.thunderbird-asia.com and Digital Photographer Philippines' website. Winners will be announced on December 20, 2009.
    3. Prizes not claimed within 60 days shall be forfeited in favor of the organizers.
    4. Taxes on prizes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner.

  9. Rights over the Submitted Photographs
    Ownership of the photos shall be with the photographers of the entries. However, submission of these photos as entries to Thunderbird Resorts-Asia give option to the latter the right to use the photo outside of the photo contest, which may include Company’s brochures, posters, billboard, online advertisement, website, web blogs, social networking sites, and other online marketing sites, given consent by the photographer. The free usage, however, of the same by the Company for its marketing and promotions shall be limited to five (5) years. Thunderbird Resorts, Inc. is not allowed to lend or sell these photos for monetary consideration.
Note: Photos are not allowed to be taken inside Thunderbird Fiesta Casinos.
